Breakbone Dance Company
Breakbone Manifesto en MissionOur motto: "Art Sanctifies". Breakbone experiments with contemporary dance that excavates social commentary and personal experience to fuel their artistic fire. Since 1997 we have been performing our own form of dance aesthetic style called Dance Exile© and have been utilizing The Bodyslam Technique© both codified & developed by Atalee Judy. Currently the company is moving beyond their seminal ground-breaking role as combative aggressive movers & provocateurs and embarking on a new development process that focuses on the effect that space has on our physical body and psyche. Breakbone creates visually driven dance theater. Equally important is the creation of an atmosphere on stage using multi-media, original imagery, and sound scores. Taking dance to new audiences, Breakbone performs in both large, fully equipped production houses and smaller, alternative site-specific performance spaces providing an environment for audiences to experience imaginative and visceral dance.
