🌍 Celebrating International HR Day with Alyssa Boardman's Inspiring Journey! On this International HR Day, we honor the professionals who shape supportive and thriving workplaces. One such individual is Alyssa Boardman, a Western Technical College alumna whose path to a fulfilling HR career began with a simple hallway flyer. Alyssa's passion for connecting with people and solving problems led her to pursue Human Resources. At Western, she immersed herself in leadership roles, serving as a Student Ambassador and president of Phi Theta Kappa. These experiences honed her skills in communication, collaboration, and empowerment. After graduating from Western in 2018, Alyssa continued her education at UW-Stout, earning a bachelor's degree in management with an emphasis in HR. Today, she thrives as an HR Coordinator at Michaels Energy, where she focuses on creating environments where employees feel valued and connected. (fb)

Big news, future lawyers! Western now has a new transfer agreement with UW-Whitewater (UWW)! Students completing (or have recently completed) the Legal Studies/Paralegal associate degree at Western Technical College can now transfer up to 61 credits to UW–Whitewater to complete a Bachelor of Arts or Science in Legal Studies. Students will finish the remaining 59 credits at UWW, either on campus or online. UWW will accept a maximum of 72 transfer credits total. This is a great option for those planning to attend law school or pursue other legal careers. Lawyer employment in Wisconsin is projected to grow 8.4% over the next 10 years. Plus, UWW is one of only three UW schools with a Legal Studies major and is located just an hour from Madison and Milwaukee, the state’s top legal markets.
