Hickory Nut Gorge Foundation The Foundation identifies and supports non-profit organizations in our service area with Grant funds provided by our Endowment fund investments. The Endowment is managed by the Community Foundation of North Carolina in Asheville, NC. Our primary sources of endowment funds are annual pledges from community members. In addition, we have been fortunate to receive some bequests from members who have provided for HNGF in their estate plans. The emphasis of our Grants is directed at Enhancing and protecting the environment, supporting economic vitality, promoting quality health, building community, supporting education, advancing the arts, and assisting people in need.
