THE METROPOLITAN PHILADELPHIA CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF SURGEONS IS INCORPORATED IN THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA UNDER THE NONPROFIT CORPORATION LAWS OF 1988. THE PURPOSE OF THE CHAPTER IS TO ADVANCE THE SCIENCE, STUDY, AND PRACTICE OF SURGERY, TO ESTABLISH A STANDARD OF COMPETENCY AND CHARACTER FOR PRACTITIONERS OF SURGERY, AND TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC REGARDING THE PRACTICE OF SURGERY.
