RecoveryPark's mission is to create jobs for people with barriers to employment. Our development strategy is to leverage the city's underutilized assets: a large workforce, abundant open space, access to fresh water, and extensive infrastructure.
Our implementation strategy is to launch our for-profit food business, RecoveryPark Farms. At RecoveryPark Farms, we grow a highly curated variety of vegetables, leafy greens and herbs. And we do this through a number of proven agriculture techniques, ranging from high tunnel to glass greenhouses, and from soil-based growing systems to hydroponics.

RecoveryPark was formed in 2010 to spearhead community redevelopment based on urban farming food production and job creation for hard to place workers specifically those recovering from addiction and reentering from the prison system. Contributors to RecoveryPark have helped to showcase Detroit as a potential model for for providing local product to restaurants and the creation of jobs in distressed areas and the inclusion of support programs to for persons with barriers to employment.
