We’re planting the future one tree at a time 🌱 Thanks to a nearly $500,000 grant from New York State’s Department of Environmental Conservation, Associate Professor of Environmental Studies Dr. Allyson Jackson is leading a bold new effort to restore and reforest a nearly three-acre plot on campus and give students hands-on experience in the field. 1,800 trees will be planted, restoring an area overrun by invasive species and creating a long-term space for research, wildlife habitat, and ecological impact. “This sort of real-world teaching is so important to prepare students for their future careers,” says Dr. Jackson.
