We are seeking help from the public in finding the owner of this 2 year old poodle mix who was reportedly found on the side of 495 in Lawrence. Willie, as we’re calling him, was brought into our care at Nevins Farm in poor condition: he was emaciated, a bit matted, and extremely dehydrated. He also had some signs of nervous system impairment, but we are hoping that this is related to his extreme dehydration and could improve with time and supportive care. Our staff at Nevins made the drive with Willie to Angell in Boston, knowing he would have the best possible chance in our ICU. He’s now receiving round-the-clock care. Willie’s prognosis is not clear at this time, but we are doing everything we can for him in hopes he can make a recovery. Cases like these use a lot of resources, and we’re only able to take in animals like Willie because of your support. Our team is working hard to see what we can find out about his background, as he might have a family out there who is looking for him. We really need the community’s help here to learn how this poor pup got into the condition he was in when he came to us. Our cat rooms are open to the public during open hours, and we do same day adoptions. Cape Cod open hours: Tuesday-Sunday 1-4 PM (we are closed 5/29!) Northeast Animal Shelter open hours: open at 11:30 7 days a week - closes at 5 pm Mon-Wed and 6 pm Thu-Sun Cats can get adopted quickly and availability can shift! The in person staff and volunteers will know way more about the individual cats than the social team so please just come on in if you’re thinking about adopting! (fb)
