Well our poor Potato is having a pretty bad week and he needs your help (again) 🥲 Potato has pica which means he compulsively eats non-food items. His personal vice of choice is anything rubber. Remember last summer when he ate an entire teething toy in 2cm chunks? And one chunk got lodged trying to leave his stomach which resulted in foreign body surgery? Wellllllllll. A few days ago Potato started to have some of those familiar symptoms. When he refused to eat his dinner, we knew we were in trouble. Tato spent the weekend in the ER clearing out a whole lot of constipation which we had hoped would solve the problem. And it did… temporarily. He was discharged Sunday evening and things initially seemed promising, but it was clear he was becoming more uncomfortable as time passed. Yesterday morning we brought the little Tater tot back to the vet and sure enough he definitely had a foreign object in his GI tract. Luckily he was able to have emergency surgery to remove the object - any guesses on what it is? Potato is now home recovering. He has a big incision on his belly which is definitely uncomfortable, but thankfully he’s back to eating and on some good meds. Plus he gets to wear his cute sunflower cone 🌻 This weekend of shenanigans unfortunately come with a big price tag - a total bill of $7,231.18‼️ We DESPERATELY need our community’s support to afford Potato’s lifesaving surgery!
