Dakota Buttes Historical Society

The Dakota Buttes Historical Society is a U.S. nonprofit organization focused on preserving and showcasing the history of Adams County and southwestern North Dakota.

Dakota Buttes Museum

The museum is a complex of four newly redesigned and refurbished buildings and outdoor exhibits. It houses a diverse collection of artifacts, including a rare horse-drawn fire truck and hose cart, early Twentieth Century farm machinery, railroad memorabilia, early and mid-century vehicles, and wall displays highlighting local communities such as Bucyrus, Haynes, Hettinger, Reeder, and Lodgepole. These exhibits provide visitors with a comprehensive look at over a century of life in the region.
