The Youth Campus
The Youth Campus brings hope for successful lives to abused and neglected children. We awaken lost hope for 34 teen girls in Park Ridge Residential Treatment, nurture new and lasting relationships for 130 boys and girls in Chicago area Foster Care families and offer support and relief to 30 Caregivers of Cook County's medically challenged children. TYC serves children who deserve a new start, a new home and people who believe in them. HOPE LIVES HERE at The Youth Campus, an Illinois 501c3 founded by women of various faiths serving children and families in need from Chicago and Park Ridge locations. Established in 1877 as an Evanston orphanage and industrial school for girls, Hannah Solomon and Jane Addams reorganized and relocated it to Park Ridge, Illinois, in 1908 as the Park Ridge School for Girls. Evolving with the times, the name changed to Park Ridge Youth Campus in 1980 with the addition of services for boys. During the 1990's more and more children from the city and across the state were served, so a West Loop office in Chicago was added and the name changed to The Youth Campus (TYC). In 2007 the Residential Treatment program in Park Ridge reverted to an all girl population returning to its heritage and promoting healing. MISSION STATEMENT: To serve children and families in need by developing, implementing and advocating for effective programs and supportive services.
