The Hope Light Foundation
Communicate cancer awareness for all cancers in three states (IL, KY and MO) to educate the general public and their primary providers on cancer signs and symptoms to promote early cancer detection and survivorship with a primary focus on rural and medically underserved communities with healthcare professional shortages. Research cancer new case and death rate data along with demographic and socioeconomic information to determine where to target cancer outreach and awareness activities in communities with the greatest need for help in the fight against cancer. Maintain the Metropolis Lighthouse "Hope Light" that is dedicated to the fight against cancer with its symbolic purpose to guide people to the Hope Light website to obtain cancer signs and symptoms with the hope of detecting cancer early when it is easier to treat and survive.

This experience highlighted the need for better awareness of cancer signs and symptoms to facilitate early detection and treatment.

The Hope Light Foundation focuses on increasing public awareness of cancer signs and symptoms to enable early detection and treatment. The organization emphasizes that knowledge about cancer is crucial for empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their health and treatment options. By promoting early detection through self-exams and screening tests, the foundation aims to improve cancer survivorship rates.
Governance and Structure
The Hope Light Foundation operates as a public charity, with a nonprofit status recognized under federal tax sections 509(a)(1) and 501(c)(3). The foundation is financially supported through corporate and individual charitable donations, including cash, real estate, wills, trusts, life insurance, and stock gift transfers.
Impact
The foundation's efforts contribute to the broader fight against cancer by educating the public and advocating for early intervention. Its activities align with global health initiatives aimed at reducing cancer mortality rates through awareness and prevention.
Partnerships and Recognition
