ASSOCIATION FOR BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED merged with THE VISION INSTITUTE OF SOUTH CAROLINA INC
The Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired South Carolina's mission is to enrich the quality of life of the blind and visually impaired. Empowering individuals who are blind or low vision to live fulfilling, purpose-driven lives The Vision Institute (TVI) and Association for Blind and Visually Impaired (ABVI) have merged. This news is exciting for both organizations, but ultimately, this decision is monumental for individuals living with vision loss in South Carolina. This merger will have a great impact on services for adults, as well as school-based programming. So, while our “look” and emails are changing, rest assured that The Vision Institute’s School-based services at the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired will continue to thrive and provide high-quality instruction, teachers for the visually impaired, orientation & mobility providers, assistive technology specialists, and braille transcription services.
