Friends of the Virginia State Archives SHOP THE TRANSCRIBEAVERSARY ARCHIVES News from the Friends of the Virginia StateArchives Straight to the Source March 14 2025 An Introduction to Research Using the Collections At the Library of Virginia This year marks the beginning of the 4th decade of presentation of the Friends of the Archives Straight to the Source program. It is the longest running series of public programing focused on the archival collection at the Library of Virginia. Throughout the period experienced staff made presentations on the content and uses of Virginia census records tax records recently processed county court records military records of Virginians in various conflicts conservation and preservation of original documents and maps and research treasures in the private papers collection and had the opportunity to directly engage with participants about their discoveries.
