Carelink Community Support Services
Nonprofit providing caring support, housing, education and employment assistance, and practical help in the community to adults with disabilities. CareLink provides a variety of services for adults with severe, chronic mental illness and developmental disabilities, including residential treatment, supported housing, and supported employment and education. CareLink was founded in 1959 to help people with disabilities to live and work in the community with independence and dignity. At the time, encouraging people with disabilities to be active participants in their recovery and supporting them in the community was a radical alternative to institutionalization. The mission of CareLink Community Support Services is to serve individuals who need specialized supports to achieve recovery, wellness and self-determination. CareLink works to improve people's lives through providing high quality services, advocating for improved systems of care, and increasing public awareness of disability related issues. CareLink also operates in the State of Delaware and has a single governing Board and operational structure.
