Prosetin is the first ALS drug candidate developed for ALS by the Project ALS Therapeutics Core. Prosetin is in Phase 1 clinical trial for ALS now. A clinical trial is our first chance to see whether or not a potential therapy works in ALS—for people with ALS. At the Core, we believe that pre-clinical research—intensive work on a new drug before it reaches people —is critical to its success. May is ALS Awareness Month. My name is Melissa Diaz-Viera. I am a social worker, wife and mother of a 3-year-old. I was diagnosed with sporadic limb onset ALS in early 2023. Rose: ALS has connected me with amazing people I never would’ve met. By taking away my physical abilities, it has also helped me define myself not by what I can do but by who I am.
