What a night! Huge thanks to everyone who joined us for last night’s Dinner & Dialogue on emergent policies and programs aimed at reducing poverty in Maine We were lucky to be joined by a panel of thoughtful, passionate experts who covered a lot of ground—from making it easier (and less stigmatized) to access food pantries and recovery services, to making sure Maine youth feel seen and supported, to expanding housing for veterans, strengthening Medicaid, and rallying behind LD 698: An Act to Sustain Emergency Homeless Shelters in Maine. The conversations were heartfelt, insightful, and energizing—and yes, the pizza didn’t hurt either. Thank you to Maine Community Bank for generously sponsoring the event, and to Maine Beer Company for donating their space to help make this important conversation happen. Last week, we received a heartwarming donation from Children's Faith Formation at St. Charles Borromeo Church! These beautiful mason jar place settings, complete with silverware and hand-written words of encouragement, were lovingly made by children for guests at our family shelter. What a meaningful way to support those in need and bring smiles to their faces. A huge thank you to the families for their kindness and for incorporating a service project into their Faith Formation year to benefit Tedford. (fb)
