Skatechurch Inc

Skatechurch Inc is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Portland, Oregon. It was founded in 1987 by Paul Anderson and Clint Bidleman as an outreach ministry to at-risk youth through skateboarding.

Mission and Activities

Skatechurch operates an indoor skatepark that serves as a safe, drug-free environment for skaters of all ages. The organization focuses on reinforcing positive attitudes, social responsibility, and Christian values among its participants. Each skate session includes a mandatory 30-minute Gospel presentation, known as the "Bible Talk," where skaters are presented with the teachings of Christianity.

The organization offers four age-specific outreach skate sessions per week, targeting Peewee (kindergarten to grade 5), Junior High (grades 6-8), High School (grades 9-12), and Over-18 groups. Additional activities include optional Bible studies before the Junior High and High School sessions, aimed at promoting biblical discipleship and integration into local church communities.
