With support from Martina, Community Prevocational Specialist, Greg, Mike, and Tim visited Local Roots to observe how plastic is installed on a large greenhouse. Thanks to Jim “Cutty” Cunningham, the group didn’t just watch; they got to roll up their sleeves and help out, turning a learning opportunity into real-world experience! Greg, Mike, and Tim are part of our Seed to Table Program, which has been growing since 2013. Through hands-on work in our greenhouse, garden, and commercial kitchen, the program helps individuals build job readiness skills in agriculture and cooking. Participants contribute fresh produce, entrees, soups, and salads to the Mountain Weavers’ Farm Store and represent Mountain Lake Services at local farmers’ markets. We’re proud of their hard work and grateful to Cutty and Local Roots for the opportunity! (fb)
