FLAGSHIP DETROIT FOUNDATION FLAGSHIP DETROIT DC3 AMERICAN AIRLINES FLAGSHIP DETROIT The Flagship Detroit was manufactured in early 1937 and American Airlines accepted delivery of the Detroit on March 2 1937. The airplane was designated as a Douglas DC3G102. It was the twentyfourth DC3 in Americans fleet which eventually totaled eightyfour aircraft. American Airlines flew the Detroit in regular passenger service until 1947 at which time it was sold.
