We are excited to share the news of our newest neighbors - ICAN and the Jon Diaz Community Center (JDCC). Today, our staff were able to visit their offices, co-located with IFW at 1010 James Street, to learn more about the Jon Diaz Community Center and view building plans for the JDCC. Staff from multiple ICAN offices, as well as CenterState CEO were present for the ribbon cutting. We are excited to be part of their journey! 5 weeks from today will be World Refugee Day! Each year on June 20th, the world celebrates World Refugee Day, the international day to honor people who have been forced to flee their home country due to fear of persecution, war, or violence. It was first celebrated in 2001 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1951 Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees. Together, we can champion their right to seek safety, build support for their economic and social inclusion, and advocate for solutions to their plight.
