Yesterday, we were honored to host the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute End-of-Year Celebration at Sullivan Gym on our Portland Campus! Surrounded by students, families, mentors, and community leaders, the evening celebrated the achievements of young women who are part of this incredible program. We were especially proud to welcome Senator Olympia Snowe, founder of the Institute, as well as USM's President Edmondson, both of whom are passionate about the impact of this work and the bright futures ahead for these young leaders. USM is proud to support the Institute’s mission to build confidence, raise aspirations, and grow leadership in high school girls across Maine. Last year, we deepened our partnership by becoming the home of the first-ever, on-campus alumni chapter of the Institute — helping create continued pathways for leadership and success as students transition to college and beyond.
