Congratulations to University of Haifa’s fashion department on winning first place in the "Building Bridges to Coexistence" competition in Abu Dhabi. Faculty and students from the "Evening Wear" course traveled to the prestigious competition and, under the guidance of renowned fashion designer and University of Haifa lecturer, Ihab Jiryis, developed a short video illustrating how fashion can serve as a tool for dialogue, listening and peace. The video showed how an item designed by student Yasmina Aweidat, inspired by her personal story, became an entire collection with the help of the support, understanding, solidarity, and dialogue created between her and her classmates – as a result of that design.
