If you've ever wondered why we do what we do....this is why! ❤️ TRR just finished ourJoe Kessler's Beach to Beach Power Swim in St. John. It's an amazing 3.5 mile long race that raises money for TRR. For more information about the race, please visit https://www.visitusvi.com/beach-beach-power-swim Jake Desmarais, who is with our TRR Columbus chapter, is about to retire from the Army in September after a very long career with several deployments. “Words can hardly capture how much this trip has meant to me. Being part of Team River Runner has been an incredible experience—one filled with growth, connection, and healing. I feel truly blessed and deeply grateful for the opportunity to be involved in something so powerful and meaningful. Through this journey, I’ve begun to understand not only how to face the wounds we can see, but also how to start healing the ones we often keep hidden inside. This experience has also changed the way I view and honor Memorial Day. For me now, it's not just a day of remembrance—it's a day of action, of living fully in honor of those who can no longer do so. I celebrate by pushing myself, embracing life, and making the most of each moment, carrying forward the spirit of those we've lost. I’ve learned so much—about myself, about resilience, and about the strength that comes from community and shared purpose. This journey has left a lasting impact on my heart, and I will carry its lessons with me always. Lastly, I want to thank Saint John and its supporters for making this event happen annually!
