Special Olympics Maine is a year round sports training & competition program for adults & children with intellectual disabilities. We serve 5000+ athletes. Here in Maine we have 90 + events each year at the local, state, National and International level. Our mission is to provide year-round sports training & athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children & adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
