Home - San Mateo County Chaplaincy San Mateo County Chaplaincy Mission StatementProvide a ministry of presence to public safety personnel and their families and provide crisis intervention and spiritual support for residents of San Mateo County. Purpose The purpose of the SMCC is to provide training for qualified individuals to serve as volunteer Chaplains with our Public Safety personnel to serve people impacted by critical incidents such as accidents fire death and crime. The training SMCC provides also equips Chaplains to provide counsel and spiritual support to Law Enforcement Officers Firefighters and Dispatchers. These volunteer chaplains will respond to the scene of critical incidents when requested by any police officer or Firefighter to serve the people involved.
