Home Page - The Old Fort Where History Comes Alive The Old Fort History Community Family Welcome to the Old Fort where history comes alive. The Old Fort is a faithful copy of the post built by American troops under the command of Major John Whistler in 1815. It is reconstructed on a plot of ground less than a quarter of a mile from the original site. We offer events and programs highlighting several hundred years of history.
