Day One's mission is to reduce the prevalence of sexual abuse and violence, and to support and advocate for those affected by it. Day One's vision is to create a community that is free of sexual abuse and violence through leadership and action that is responsive to the needs of the community. Day One was established in 1973 by a group of women concerned about the increasing problem of sexual assault and the lack of services and information available to victims and the public.

Whether you are supporting and advocating for a victim or educating youth on the importance of prevention our employees make a major difference in the lives of thousands of Rhode Islanders each year. Join Our Team Volunteer advocates provide support information and referrals to survivors at hospitals and police stations throughout Rhode Island. Our 30 hour training program will provide the skills knowledge and confidence to work with victims of all ages.
