Spiritually Fit, Inc. believes that the best way to preach the gospel to the whole world is by doing so in a group effort. Furthermore, obesity is a leading cause of mortality, morbidity, disability, and discrimination in health care, education, and employment. According to a recent RAND study, the health consequences of obesity are as significant or greater than smoking, problem alcohol consumption and poverty. The consequences of obesity include various cancers, heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, and problem pregnancies and childbirth among others. As a matter of fact, minorities are twice as likely to become diabetic or have high blood pressure than the upper class. Regardless of any percentage of obesity--it's too high. We need to become educated on healthy eating habits in order to survive in today's world. The diet industry is making millions of dollars on people desperate to lose weight. People?s obsessions about weight have led to anorexia, bulimia, and other eating disorders. We don't realize that obesity is most often derived from personal issues: Rejection, Fear, Loneliness, and/or Abuse. Nevertheless, there are a wide variety of reasons why individuals become overweight but Spiritually Fit, Inc. will help save some individuals from falling into a deadly trap of this weight loss craze. We at Spiritually Fit, Inc. recognize that the current systems of programs serving our minorities are fragmented, confused and inefficient. We advocate a radical change with a holistic approach in treating these problems. There is no substitute for motivating or the building up of an individual to meet his or her maximum potential. We recognize the crucial steps in creating a responsive self-help weight management program that will allow minorities to embrace the future assured with the dynamics of success through exercise, nutritional education and behavioral modification. Our program pursues a strategic plan with a spiritual approach that starts with reaching out to the under privileged urban areas with general skills regarding eating habits, exercising and personal image that will end up with job placement, advancement or business opportunity; therefore, strengthens the whole economy. And unless we improve our strategic planning process regarding healthy living for minorities, we will become vulnerable to the crisis and problems associated with yesterday's mistakes! 68 million American adults are trying to lose weight. Spiritually Fit, Inc believes that the key to a healthy weight is definitely not another diet. The real solution is to make healthful eating and physical activity a way of life. The key to a healthy weight is to ignore those misleading weight loss ads - and focus on taking permanent steps toward a healthy lifestyle Our workshop emphasizes how to incorporate healing methods into an individual's self-improvement and personal growth. These modalities allow us to become able to get down to the individual's core problems in the very first session, through bringing repressed, oppressed, and suppressed issues to consciousness. This gives us the ability to focus on their strengths rather than their weaknesses creating a more positive lasting weight loss result, enabling them to pursue their interest, talents and to live a more abundant life.
