For 30 years, MAXCourage has provided ELA & SEL curricula to middle schoolers in Boston and beyond. The mission of MAXCourage is to empower students to discover the value of courage and develop English Language Arts (ELA) proficiency. The program, through its mission, helps students recognize their capacity to address the troubling complexities of their world by exploring the concept of courage in literature, in their own lives, and in the broader community. At the same time, this SEL approach strengthens their literacy skills. MAXCourages overarching vision is to provide a model ELA curriculum which empowers students to learn about and continue to exhibit courage in their lives, and which inspires others to make bolder and more courageous choices.

MAXCourage For over 30 years MAXCourage has supported students and teachers in Boston and beyond with our free English Language Arts and SocialEmotional Learning Curriculum. Stories of courage have a special power to engage and inspire young people. The Max Warburg Courage Curriculum gives educators tools to help students discover their capacity for courage and find a voice to share their personal stories of courage with the world. 200000 children wrote essays in 30 years 6500 children and 100 teachers worldwide participate each year 85 dollars is the cost per student 2025 Essay Judging Day Courage in Malden This fall we visited Salemwood School in Malden MA to see how MAXCourage is making an impact in the classroom.
