𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭! This year, local 6th graders embarked on an exciting interdisciplinary adventure through the "Passport to Trails" project, in collaboration with the Steep Rock Association. Throughout the year, students explored the trails of Steep Rock Preserve, taking detailed notes and observations to help create engaging and informative trail guides designed for families. Along the way, they integrated their learning by writing poetry, creating nature-inspired artwork, making scientific observations, and applying math skills to better understand the trails. The project culminated with a student-created trail guide aimed at encouraging families to get outside and explore together. We invite everyone to 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 on Sunday, June 1 at 1pm at Steep Rock Preserve. Be among the first to receive a Steep Rock Passport Booklet. 🐢 Happy World Turtle Day! 🐢 Today is a reminder to be on the lookout to protect the slow-and-steady travelers among us! This time of year, female turtles are on the move to find nesting spots, which often means crossing roads and passing through yards. Please stay alert when driving or mowing. If you spot a turtle in harm’s way, always move it in the direction it’s heading by lifting it gently by the shell (never by the tail or head).
