Congratulations to Yellow Cluster teacher Allison Pearlman for receiving a 2025 Educator Award from Xavier High School! Ms. Pearlman received the award when one of her former students, Gaynor alum Nicolas F., wrote an essay about her titled “My Favorite Teacher.” Nicolas’ essay was selected as one of the best, so both he and Ms. Pearlman received awards for their work. Before Gaynor went on spring break, Orange Cluster students Sassan and Shapur M. taught their classmates about the Persian New Year, Nowruz. The word nowruz means “new day” in Farsi, and it marks the beginning of the new year in the Persian calendar. This year the holiday fell during our Spring Break on March 20th, so to celebrate early, the Orange Cluster worked together to set up a Nowruz table. The table features items that start with “s” in Farsi, that are symbols of spring and renewal.
