🚨 Louisiana’s HB76 Is Dangerous and Must Be Stopped 🚨 HB76 would make it a crime simply to live with a sexually transmitted infection (STI) like HIV, herpes, HPV, or Hepatitis B—regardless of whether any harm occurred. This bill doesn’t protect people—it punishes them for knowing their health status. 📉 Here’s what HB76 would do: • Criminalize people living with STIs, even survivors of sexual violence • Increase stigma and discourage testing and treatment • Disproportionately target Black, brown, LGBTQ+, low-income, and young people • Give abusers legal leverage to control and silence survivors • Worsen health outcomes across Louisiana 💥 With some of the highest STI rates in the country, what Louisiana needs is better access to healthcare, education, and support—not more criminalization. 🛑 HB76 is about fear, not facts.
