HEAL Africa operates the only center for children living with HIV in the entire North Kivu Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Now in its 16th year of operation, the Children’s AIDS Program is the ideal platform for reaching the complex needs of children living with HIV in eastern Congo. The clinic is staffed entirely by Congolese healthcare professionals, is integrated into the regional HIV response and its community health workers are able to work directly in communities to help children living with HIV. We are seeking funding ($20,000) to support the psychosocial and community outreach aspects of this long standing project. Specifically, we seek funding to support our club for teenagers living with HIV, home-based outreach with community healthcare workers, counseling and nutritional support for infants affected by HIV.
