We are only two days out from our Community Farms Fundraiser @allagashbrewing! Grab a friend, bring the kids, and stop by to celebrate and support Cultivating Community's farms and garden programs! This Saturday, May 31st from 3-6 pm at Allagash Brewing Co's Cellars in Portland, ME. This is a free and family-friendly event - all are welcome! Raffle fundraiser and prizes from local businesses and artists, snacks made from our farms and gardens by local chefs, Allagash beverages, cash bar, and the exciting release of a special wild fermented beer made with peaches gleaned from our very own Boyd Street Urban Farm. This season's loss of federal funding and the threats to both the immigrant and farming communities are devastating, but we're going to keep growing food together! For over 15 years, we have supported local food justice, fresh food access, and training for immigrant farmers through our Community Farms Program (formerly NASAP). Every growing season, we provide plots of farmland, shared infrastructure, over 40,000 culturally familiar seedlings, SNAP/WIC match on farmstand sales, support, and so much more. All of which means food and financial security for ~50 immigrant families, and over $500,000 worth of food provided to neighbors in need. Hundreds of farmers and thousands of neighbors have benefited from this grassroots work, and it's all thanks to communities coming together to make it happen. We can't thank our local partners and buisness who have supported this event enough. Join us - link to reserve a ticket can be found in our bio. We can't wait to see you there! 💚 (fb)
