The official Facebook for Touro University Nevada » Educating future healthcare professionals to serve, to lead, to teach Touro University Nevada was established to help address and serve the critical needs in medicine, health care, and education in the State of Nevada. A non-profit, Jewish-affiliated, private university, Touro University Nevada opened its doors in 2004 in Henderson, Nevada. The university serves the Southern Nevada geographical region. Today, Touro enrolls nearly 1,400 students in degree programs in osteopathic medicine, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant studies, medical health sciences, and education. Many of these are the first and only programs of their kind in the State of Nevada.At Touro University Nevada, service to the community is central to its mission: To Serve. To Lead. To Teach. Therefore, all of the programs have a community service/service learning component to them. Touro operates an on-campus Health Center and a Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities. The university also has a well-established outreach program to provide healthcare to the community's underserved populations through clinic sites at domestic violence shelters for women and children, and through its mobile outreach initiative to the community's homeless population and homeless veterans and to individuals with developmental disabilities.
