ROAR Ridgefield Operation Animal Rescue – making a difference one tail at a time

www.roar-ridgefield.org ROAR is a 501c3 animal rescue in Ridgefield, CT that specializes in the compassionate treatment and adoption of homeless pets. R.O.A.R. is a community funded and supported shelter for dogs and cats.  It was established in 2005 and receives no state or federal aid.  We are a small shelter that accepts surrendered animals as well as abandoned and neglected dogs and cats in our community.  In addition, when we have capacity we accept dogs rescued from high-kill shelters in other parts of the country.  We also recognize the need and importance of bringing education about animal welfare into our community.  One of our target groups is children - we work with local schools to develop fun and productive projects that build awareness about shelter animals and the need for compassion.

ROARRidgefield Operation for Animal Rescue ROARRidgefield Operation for Animal Rescue Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue Home of the Donofrio Family Animal Shelter making a difference one tail at a time ROAR was founded on the simple principle that we would provide animals in need with the same love care and compassion we show our own family pets. Since we opened the doors of the Donofrio Family Animal Shelter in 2005 we have placed about 6000 neglected and unwanted cats and dogs in caring homes throughout Ridgefield and surrounding towns in Fairfield County CT and Westchester County NY. But our mission does not end at our shelters door. ROARs staff and volunteers are also committed to enhancing the remarkable bond between people and pets through our education and outreach programs sharing information about the rewards of adopting a pet responsibilities of pet ownership and working with student groups in developing ways to give back to animals in need.
