Huguenot & New Rochelle Historical Association
The Huguenot & New Rochelle Historical Association was founded in 1886. The Association owns & maintains the Thomas Paine Cottage Museum & Sophia Brewster One-room Schoolhouse; both operating as historic museum sites for over 100 years. As a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit we strive to preserve, share & educate on the rich history of the City of New Rochelle, our original Huguenot settlers & founding father Thomas Paine. It is our honor to operate the last standing house in the Northeast that Paine called home, to educate on the Huguenot connection to this land and the ever evolving and changing history of New Rochelle, NY.
