Mayor Cristina Cutrone, joined by the Borough Council, proclaimed May 2025 as Jewish American Heritage Month in Fair Lawn, echoing the national recognition established by presidential proclamation in 2006 and reaffirmed annually since. The proclamation acknowledges the integral role Jewish Americans have played in shaping the United States since the 17th century, from advancing civil rights and democratic values to enriching arts, sciences, business, and public service. “The values, history, and achievements of Jewish Americans have helped guide and shape our nation’s progress for centuries,” said Mayor Cutrone. “Here in Fair Lawn, we are proud to honor that legacy and recognize the many contributions of our Jewish community members.” Neil Garfinkle accepted the proclamation on behalf of the local Jewish community, a moment that highlighted Fair Lawn’s commitment to inclusion, education, and cultural appreciation. At its regular meeting on May 20, 2025, the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Fair Lawn proudly recognized the achievements of the Fair Lawn High School Girls Wrestling Team by proclaiming May 21, 2025, as “Fair Lawn High School Girls Wrestling Day.” The proclamation, presented by Mayor Cristina Cutrone, commends the team for their exceptional dedication, perseverance, and sportsmanship throughout the 2023–2024 season. Competing at the county, regional, and state levels, these outstanding student-athletes have brought pride to their school and the entire Borough through their hard work and accomplishments on the mat.
