Embodying Earth with Regan Stacey is a themed retreat taking place at Mercy by the Sea from June 13-15. Retreatants will explore how human bodies and the body of Earth are sources of wisdom that inform and reflect each other. We’ll practice cultivating an embodied awareness through the art of grounding, sensory attention, gentle movement exercises and creativity. Time will be devoted to Forest Bathing to open our senses and experience how being immersed among trees reconnects us to Spirit, along with contemplative walks through the seven-circuit outdoor labyrinth overlooking Long Island Sound. Mercy by the Sea’s guests are such gifts. Holding a place in the heart of staff is this poem bestowed by a guest to our very own Annie. “For Annie – Just a Few Words from the Beach!” A lone green shoot rises from the rocks, catching my gaze. I sit here alone on a craggy rock, in the presence of eternity. The timeless lapping of gentle waves, Birds calling to me, The sun warming my head. Truly a place of peace, renewal, and mercy. (fb)
