We’re excited to share the Custom House Maritime Museum is hosting a very special exhibit May through June 20. Lifelong Craft: The Model Boats of Paul Tremblay celebrates the incredible work of 96 year old Newburyport resident Paul Tremblay, who has been designing and building model boats since he was 17. Now living at the Heritage House senior living community with his wife, Paul continues to work with precision, creativity, and passion. “The inspiration for my models has always come from my own imagination," Tremblay says. "I feel happy and honored to now share them with the public.” The idea for the exhibit began when Ellie Zwart, a resident service coordinator with AgeSpan, encouraged Paul to share his work with his neighbors at Heritage. The exhibit features 10 of his handcrafted boats in the museum’s Community Gallery—a rotating space for arts, crafts, and specialty collections. (fb)

This year’s National Nurses Month theme, "The Power of Nurses," reflects the incredible work of our nurses. Through their care, compassion, and dedication, they change the lives of older adults in our community every single day. One shining example is Andrea Rhodes. Andrea has been with AgeSpan for two years, supporting older adults as a Home Care RN through home visits, phone calls, and paperwork. She finds home visits especially rewarding because she enjoys meeting “unique, hospitable, and delightful individuals” and helping them get the services they need. For Andrea, healthy aging is about more than just medical care...it’s about meeting basic human needs. “My role is to identify needs and approve services like home care, and companionship that support a safer and more fulfilling aging process."
