Deborah Birrane-Dance

The Mission of Deborah Birrane Dance (DBD) is to create a repertoire of timeless dance that connects with audiences through the movement of human experience.Our Vision is to make Modern Dance accessible, enjoyable, and relevant to audiences everywhere. We recognize that dance cannot become Art until it moves an audience. DBD creates dance grounded in the roots and craft of modern dance yet radiates with the contemporary aesthetic of DBD. By respecting our audience we are able to create dances that stimulate the senses, intrigue the intellect, and arouse the emotions. The dances of DBD include solo dance concerts as well as group works presented on stage. Washington State is home base for DBD. The company/and soloists, however, have performed in Pennsylvania, Texas, Arizona, Canada, and Yugoslavia. In addition, her works have been set on dancers (not affiliated with DBD) and those works have been performed in Israel and China. Also, Ms. Birrane has brought the powerful experience of creative movement for children to dance teachers in Russia. Currently in the works for summer 2016 is to bring a solo performance and movement class to patients in the Psych Ward at Harborview Hospital, Seattle, WA.
