The Constable legacy provides the foundation for North Country history. Come experience the serenity and stately beauty of the home and surroundings. The historic Constable family home that inspired the beloved poem
"Twas The Night Before Christmas". Our mission is to preserve and protect the home of the Constable family. William Sr. obtained a huge track of northern NY during the McCombs Purchase in 1791. The house was built between 1810 - 1819 and is a Georgian style mansion.

Welcome to Constable Hall The Hall is closed for inside tours until spring however we still have many exciting outside programs planned. Check our Event page for upcoming activities and people are still encouraged to enjoy the grounds our new paths and new benches. We will officially open for tours on May 28th but schools or groups may tour earlier with a reservation. Constable Hall is a historic house museum located in the Adirondack Tug Hill Region of Lewis County New York.
