Yoshiko Chuma & The School of Hard Knocks
The School of Hard Knocks is a multi disciplinary performance company made up of dancers, musicians, designer, and administrators, working under the artistic direction of Yoshiko Chuma. The company creates and presents performance works in venues ranging from living rooms to first class theatrical venues. Based in New York City, the group is dedicated to creating a pipeline of performing artists throughout the world, and has toured and collaborated on artistic projects in Asia, East Europe, West Europe, and throughout the United States. An annual New York Season, touring, and educational programming are all a part of the work of up to 1,000 artists who make up the company members.
