Connecticut Chapter of Certified Fraud Examiners

The Connecticut Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners is a local chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the world's largest anti-fraud organization. Established in 1992, it serves as a regional entity providing support and resources to anti-fraud professionals residing in Connecticut.

Overview

Similar to other ACFE chapters, the Connecticut Chapter focuses on delivering localized training and networking opportunities to its members. These activities help members fulfill the continuing professional education (CPE) requirements necessary for maintaining the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification.

Membership and Activities

The chapter's membership includes professionals from diverse industries such as public accounting, finance, law enforcement, medical, insurance, banking, education, government, and legal. Members benefit from attending local events and seminars that cover timely anti-fraud topics relevant to their professional development.

Role in the Community

The chapter plays an active role in promoting fraud awareness and addressing fraud-related issues within the local community. By providing accessible training and networking opportunities, it supports both emerging and experienced anti-fraud specialists.

Parent Organization

The parent organization, the ACFE, was founded in 1988 by Joseph T. Wells and is headquartered in Austin, Texas. The ACFE is recognized globally for providing anti-fraud training, publishing fraud-related research, and awarding the CFE credential.

Membership in the Connecticut Chapter offers numerous benefits, including:

  • Networking Opportunities: Members can connect with other anti-fraud professionals in the region through local chapter events.
  • Local CPE Training: Access to quality, affordable training that fulfills CPE requirements without travel expenses.
