A group of IMS seventh graders and our Sustainability Science teacher, Ms. Sonya Friel, recently attended the Ashokan Center's fourth annual Youth Empowerment & Sustainability Summit (YESS!) in Olivebridge, NY. During this immersive three-day event, our team worked with like-minded students to share sustainability initiatives already in place at their schools and to brainstorm other effective methods for implementing sustainability practices. Education rooted in stewardship is part of the IMS experience and the YESS! summit is one way our students are empowered to implement positive change in the world. (fb)
