What does collaboration between Swedish and Ukrainian cultural institutions look like in 2025? A working meeting in Stockholm brought together archivists, museum leaders, researchers, and Wikimedia affiliates to find out. Hosted under the joint Swedish-Ukrainian project Open GLAM in Ukraine, the gathering focused on unlocking access to Ukraine’s cultural heritage on Wikimedia platforms – despite war, displacement, and systematic underfunding that has resulted in staggering cultural losses. Ukrainian institutions are digitising millions of records – often under air and raid sirens – and building partnerships to preserve collections at risk. With more than 2,200 institutions damaged and over 34,000 museum items stolen, this work is essential. Meeting discussions ranged from disinformation and digitisation gaps to the power of Creative Commons licenses and the future of open access. Survey results shared at the event show a growing interest from Ukraine’s GLAM sector in joining the Wikimedia movement – with nearly 90% of institutions open to collaboration. Tagalog Wikisource is officially live! It is the second Philippine language to be supported on Wikisource in the last five months, and one of the free library's 70+ languages. This milestone is a result of the work of the Philippine Wikimedia Community User Group (PhilWiki Community), which in 2024 started an effort to support the Wikisource Loves Manuscripts project. The community engaged staff from galleries, libraries, archives, and museums to build an open library in several Philippine languages, including Ilokano, Cebuano, Waray, Hiligaynon, Pangasinan, and Kapampangan. More than 50 participants have completed training, and many have proofread and validated over a dozen translations of novels, novenas, and metrical verses. Also, classic novels including “Noli me tángere” and “El filibusterismo”, which were originally written in Spanish by Philippine national hero Dr. Josė Rizal, are now available on Wikisource in multiple Philippine languages. The PhilWiki Community is the first implementer of Wikisource Loves Manuscripts outside Indonesia.
