For 20 years, SUNY Fredonia’s Stroke/Head Injury Support Group has been a vital source of connection, care, and communication. Housed in the Youngerman Center for Communication Disorders, this unique program supports stroke and traumatic brain injury (TBI) survivors and their families—offering strategies for communication, emotional support, and a strong sense of community. It also gives our Speech-Language Pathology graduate students invaluable hands-on experience working directly with clients. What began in 2004 has now impacted over 100 survivors and caregivers, 120 student clinicians, and more than 30 campus and community professionals. These gatherings provide a space for healing, shared experiences, and renewed confidence. Here’s to two decades of resilience, recovery, and meaningful relationships. (fb)
