A dynamic and vital musical ensemble specializing in music of the baroque and classical eras. THE SEBASTIANS 10TH ANNUAL NYC CONCERT SERIES INCLUDED EIGHT BAROQUE CONCERTS--THREE DUO RECITALS AND FIVE LARGER PROGRAMS--CONCEIVED BY OUR DIRECTORS TO OFFER AUDIENCES A DIVERSE SPREAD OF MUSICAL EXPERIENCES, WITH PROGRAMS GRAND AND INTIMATE, STRAIGHTFORWARD AND INTERDISCIPLINARY, FEATURING BOTH WELL- AND LESSER-KNOWN WORKS. OUR AIM IN PROGRAMMING WAS TO PROVIDE VARIETY FOR OUR DEDICATED CURRENT AUDIENCE WHILST ATTRACTING NEW LOVERS OF MUSIC, BOTH CLASSICAL AND OTHERWISE. WE CONTINUED A TRADITION OF INCORPORATING INTERDISCIPLINARY COLLABORATIONS IN SOME PROGRAMS, AND ALL CONCERTS INCLUDED SPOKEN COMMENTARY ABOUT THE MUSIC AND HISTORICAL CONTEXT AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET THE PERFORMERS.
