💙 Welcome the 2025 CLIA Stewards! 💙 Starting next week, you’ll see our amazing Canadarago Lake Stewards — proudly wearing bright blue vests — at the boat launch. Please give them a warm welcome and your full cooperation as they perform a critical role in protecting the health of our lake. 🛶 Why are Stewards important? Boats entering Canadarago Lake through the public launch are checked by our trained stewards. They're on the lookout for invasive species, making sure boats are clean, drained, and dry before launching. This simple process helps safeguard the lake we all love. 🌱 About the Steward Program We’re extremely proud of our Steward Program. In 2024, all CLIA Stewards received paid refresher training to sharpen their skills. And thanks to a generous $100,000 grant from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and Environmental Protection Fund, we secured three years of funding for our steward and boat decontamination efforts. Our program is also supported by a powerful partnership with the Catskill Regional Invasive Species Partnership Regional Steward Program — further expanding our ability to protect Canadarago Lake for generations to come. 🫶 Thank you to our dedicated stewards, our partners, and YOU — the community — for doing your part.
