Last week, in a victory for the brain injury community, the Texas legislature delayed the progression of a bill that would be harmful to brain injury survivors. This bill risks negative medical outcomes for survivors and eliminates patient protections that the Texas Legislature had already implemented, including medically necessary coverage, protections against surprise billing, and network adequacy. Because of the advocacy of the brain injury community, this bill will not be heard again until 2027. We are so proud of the work the Brain Injury Association of America - Texas Chapter did to make this happen, in addition to all the other brain injury advocates in Texas. (fb)
